 Specifics of Success:

§  1995–2001 | Director-System Integration, CellNet Data Systems
Redesigned business processes for eight (8) U.S. investor-owned utilities (IOUs), enabling them to install and operate over 13 million AMI meters. Led end-to-end meter data integration into utility operations—from billing and outage management to customer service and financial reporting. Personally engaged with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, secure approvals, and implement data flows that turned meter reads into actionable business intelligence.

§  2001–2004 | CEO & Founder, WACS (Ecologic Analytics)
Pioneered the first Meter Data Management (MDM) system purpose-built for the utility sector. Designed a vendor-agnostic MDM database structure that integrated seamlessly with systems from Itron and other providers. Delivered advanced functionality like VEE, real-time outage/restoration tracking, on-demand reads, flexible routing, and customer self-service. Successfully scaled the business and exited via a strategic sale to Landis+Gyr with a 3X return for investors.

§  2004–2010 | VP of Systems Integration, Trilliant
Led global AMI integrations for Trilliant’s mesh network platform, including large-scale rollouts at Hydro One, TNB Malaysia, and PG&E. Served as the bridge between utility consultants and Trilliant’s engineering teams, translating business goals into robust technical architectures and integration strategies.

§  2010–2012 | Co-Founder & VP of Engineering, Verdeeco
Developed a next-generation cloud-based MDM platform, significantly lowering capex and opex for co-ops and municipal utilities. Enabled utilities to scale MDM services on demand and pay only for active assets on which they would use our applications. A unique financial model that led to rapid adoption and a 9X return on acquisition by Sensus.

§  2012–2016 | Sr. Director, Professional Services, AutoGrid
Designed and deployed DERMS platforms to support utility demand response programs. Helped utilities like BPA (Bonneville Power) shift from reactive load purchases from the spot market to proactive peak management by designing Demand Response (DR) programs, including command center workflow re-engineering, strategy consulting, and IT architecture development.

§  2016–2017 | Head of Customer Engagement & Support, Siemens (eMeter)
Worked with major utilities to implement and optimize EnergyIP MDM, from defining business cases and ROI models to use case testing and post-launch support. Focused on aligning MDM capabilities with strategic business outcomes across customer service, field ops, and grid reliability.

§  2017–Present | Principal Consultant, Capgemini
Leading AMI 2.0 transformation initiatives for utilities such as LUMA, Con Edison, and National Grid. I specialize in MDM architecture redesign, proposal development, and advanced data use cases, including VEE and interval analytics. Provide thought leadership and hands-on guidance to align technology investments with operational goals and customer expectations.
